Kinsmen Children's Hospital Home Lotto
For the last fifteen years Shane Homes has been making dreams happen for Calgarians through the Kinsmen Children's Hospital Home Lotto. During that time, we have helped the Kinsmen raise over $18 million for the children through the Alberta Children's Hospital.
Each year Shane Homes builds, furnishes and landscapes showhomes for the lottery. Organizing a home lotto is a tremendous undertaking and would not be possible without the generous donations by all of Shane Homes' trades and suppliers along with a team of dedicated volunteers. |

Ernest Manning
Since 1997 Shane Homes and Ernest Manning High School have joined together to build the Partners in Learning educational program. The partnership is a fantastic hands-on learning opportunity that enriches the lives of students and encourages joint community efforts and funding for school based activities and programs.
Students and Shane employees have been working together to design, construct, finish, decorate, landscape and market several new homes. Students involved in Work Experience, Registered Apprenticeship Program, Drafting, Computer Applications, Construction and Leadership learn all aspects of the home building industry from Shane's team of professionals.
The homes created through the partnership are built at cost with the proceeds from the sale of each going to the Ernest Manning Griffin Fund. The partnership allows the school to integrate in-class and on-the-job workplace experience, and expands vocation, technical and apprentice training.

Airdrie's East Lake Recreation and Wellness Centre
Shane Homes Donates $225,000 to the Airdrie Regional Recreation Enhancement Society (ARRES).
Shane Homes started building in the city of Airdrie in early 2006 in the SW community of Morningside, followed in the early spring by the NW community of King’s Heights. Not one to drag their heels, Shane Homes demonstrated their long-term commitment to the city of Airdrie by donating $225,000 to the Airdrie Regional Recreation Enhancement Society (ARRES).
“We’re elated to have Shane Homes invest in Airdrie, and the community is extremely appreciative of this major long-term partnership,” explains Peter Brown, fund development manager for ARRES. “The City of Airdrie will utilize Shane’s investment to help fund the construction of a multi-purpose facility that will include two indoor soccer fields, an indoor running track and a world-class gymnastics facility, which will greatly enhance the quality of life for many of our citizens for years to come.”

Okotoks Recreational Centre
Shane Homes Donates $100,000 to the Okotoks Recreational Centre.
Shane Homes' donation to the Okotoks Recreational Centre was a great opportunity to give back to the town of Okotoks. "We have never had a chance before this to give back to Okotoks. There have been smaller opportunities, but never a large one like this," says Shane Wenzel, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales. |

The Chestermere Library
Shane Homes Donates $45,000 to the Chestermere Library.
A lakeside retreat in a lakeside town, Chestermere's first public library is a welcome addition. A 6,500 sq. ft. walkout space complete with a fireplace centred reading area, views of the lake through oversized windows and 15,000 books. The library was nearly a decade in the making and is now open for business. |

Springbank Park for All Seasons
Shane Homes Donates $100,000 to the Chestermere Library.
Located in southwest Calgary, the donation was a natural for Shane Homes. The curling centre will be referred to as the Shane Homes Curling Centre and the remainder of the funds will be put into a new covered outdoor ice arena and many modernizations to the indoor ice rink. |

Willow Park Charity Golf Classic
For many years, Shane Homes has been the title sponsor along with Willow Park Golf & Country Club for the Willow Park Charity Golf Classic, which runs for two days in July.
Located in the southeast community of Willow Park, this 18-hole private golf club, the first residential golf course community in Calgary, plays host to the golf classic, raising funds for a different charity each year. Willow Park generously donates its golf course for the two-day event and Shane donates $50,000 every year. In the past four years Shane Homes has helped raise over $1 million for the various tournament charities. |

Calgary Region Home Builder's Association
Shane Homes' Senior Vice President of Operations is a member of the CRHBA Charitable Foundation Board which raises funds for projects such as the Bob Ward Residence. The Bob Ward Residence provides affordable housing for persons with mental illness who are supported by the Canadian Mental Health Association, the physically disabled, the brain injured who are supported by the Universal Rehabilitation Service Agency, and persons living below the poverty line. |

Habitat for Humanity
Shane Homes and its staff have supported the Habitat for Humanity by designing, building and decorating a playhouse every year for the past 5 years which is displayed at Sunridge Mall in the Spring where the public can purchase tickets for a chance to win a playhouse. All proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity. |

Staff Christmas Gift to Cal Wenzel, Founder & President of Shane Homes
Each year the staff at Shane Homes donates funds to Cal's Christmas gift, which are passed on to the charity of his choice. Last year the staff raised enough money to purchase over 200 gifts that were purchased and donated to the United Way.
Various Charitable Golf Tournaments
Shane Homes supports various local charitable golf tournaments through sponsorship such as the Priddis Greens Charity Classic in support of prostate cancer research and the Calgary Real Estate Board Charity Golf Classic in support of CREB's charities.
Community Donations
Shane Homes is dedicated to supporting Calgary and it's communities by giving back to the community in various ways. Shane Homes provides funding, supplies and manpower to run community events to encourage residents in new communities to meet one another. Shane Homes also donates to the building of community centers such as $5000 to the Foothills Centennial Centre (Okotoks Community Centre), $20,000 to the Panorama Hills Recreation Centre and $20,000 to the Westside Recreation Centre. The sponsorship of community sports teams, whether hockey, soccer, baseball or other sports, is important to community development as well.
